Vitamins are a group of organic substances that must be consumed daily in small amounts through the diet, as they are essential for growth and for the proper execution of vital functions.

These micronutrients, as key regulators of metabolism, have coenzymatic activity and perform many specific functions. Based on solubility, they are divided into:

  • Water-soluble: Vitamin B1, B2, B5, B6, B12, Vitamin PP, folic acid, Vitamin H, Vitamin C.
  • Fat-soluble: Vitamin A, D, E, K.

Vitamins play an extremely important role in child development, especially during the early stages of growth: they have a formative role in metabolic and energy processes, are fundamental for bone development, participate in defense mechanisms, and protect against oxidative stress. In particular, in premature babies, supplementation with Vitamins D, E, K, B6, folic acid, and Vitamin A is always recommended, since Vitamin A appears to prevent pulmonary complications.

Note: Dietary supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet and are not intended for the prevention or treatment of diseases. It is important to consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or have any health problems. There is always the possibility of interactions and side effects other than those mentioned. The advice of your healthcare professional prevails over the information provided on the website.
